We never thought there were such pristine beaches in the Highlands, but
we actually find ourselves spoiled for choice!
The Anderson is just a short stroll from Fortrose Harbour,
with its long beach and boat club; a bit further on is famous
Chanonry Point, which curls around the golf course to secluded Rosemarkie beach,
all great places to take the kids, the dog or a good book.
If fossils and caves are your thing, however, Eathie Beach is somewhere you won't
want to miss. You can access it by the Hugh Miller Trail or by the steep descent from Hillock Head --
but only go there at low tide, or you might find yourself trapped for a few hours!
