Have you heard of the Bavarian holiday called Kirchweih?

Well, neither have we. It's something to do with a Medieval Dutch festival called Kermesse held upon the consecration of a new church.

 

The idea spread throughout Europe and  Britain, but the thing that caught our ear was that Ayinger Privatbrauerei in Bavaria makes a special beer for the occasion every year.
